• Open Knowledge Foundation - UK based not-for-profit organisation promoting open knowledge in all its forms, including open government data. For more details see projects and events pages. Relevant work includes:

• Open Gov Data Netherlands - A project aimed at opening up government data sources for free use by citizens and organisations. Part of a bigger programme by the deputy minister for the interior in the Netherlands on transparancy in government.

• Open governance projects - List of projects which are attempting to open up their government to citizen participation. These projects, and the international Metagovernment project are more about governance than data, but are consistent with the principles of this project.

• Askatu Datuak - Basque Country based movement promoting open data in government.
